MPI Members "Buy MPI"
In a July 2003 Cyber Café poll at MPI’s World Education Congress, 88 percent of 1,137 member respondents confirmed that they prefer to purchase their products and services from other MPI members. MPI encourages all of its members to purchase from and sell services to MPI members. MPI also is the only industry association committed to maintaining a 50:50 planner-supplier membership ratio.

MPI’s planner membership is diverse.

  • 52% corporate
  • 21% independent/consultant
  • 21% association/non-profit
  • 6% vertical markets such as university, government and medical

The collective buying power of MPI planner members is US$9 billion of which:

  • 20% oversee meeting-planning budgets of US$3 million or more
  • 21% oversee meeting-planning budgets of US$1 million to US$3 million

65 percent of Fortune 100 companies are represented in MPI’s planner membership.
