CMP Certification
Through the CMP Program, individuals who are currently employed in meeting management have the opportunity to pursue continuing education, increased industry involvement and industry-wide recognition by achieving the CMP designation. The requirements for certification are based on professional experience and an academic examination.

Who should work toward the CMP designation?
You should apply for a CMP designation if you have:
- At least three years of meeting management experience,
- Current employment in meeting management, and
- Responsibility and accountability for the successful completion of meetings.

CMM Certification
The Global Certification in Meeting Management (CMM) is the first university co-developed global professional designation for meeting professionals. The global CMM focuses on strategic issues and executive decision-making and offers advanced level meeting professionals the opportunity for:

Through a four-step process, candidates progress deeper into strategic thinking and acting. These steps include an educational journey through the following aspects of the program:
Part I Acceptance into the Program
- Successful completion of the application and acceptance into the CMM program
Part II Pre-residency
- Various reading assignments, a faculty survey and psychological type questionnaire
- Active participation in a case study team using on-line technology
Part III Residency
- Attendance in an intense 5-day residency program
- Participation in a group case study
Part IV Post-residency
- Individual exam (completed at home immediately following the program)
- Successful completion of a strategic business plan which must be for either a new business venture or a restructuring your current situation
How does the CMM certification differ from the CMP Certification?
The CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) and the Global CMM are not in competition. The CMM is structured to complement the CMP. Whereas the CMP is more tactical in nature, the CMM focuses on strategic initiatives and executive decision-making
